EI believe that we have obligations beyond taking responsibility for our activities with our customers, suppliers, employees, shareholders, communities, the environment and other stakeholders. This commitment extends beyond our statutory obligations to comply with legislation.
First and foremost, EI will be a force for good wherever we operate. The sometimes fragile states in which we operate require strict adherence to the principle of ‘Individual Security’. All actions start with the principle that respect for and the protection of human rights is a core principle of our service provision, in any society with which we interact. Our actions will assist development.

To this end, EI supports the United Nations (UN) Global Compact, which today stands as the largest corporate citizenship and sustainability initiative in the world. We have committed to align our operations and strategies in a way that embraces and promotes the 10 Principles internationally.
In addition, EI welcomes the international agreement reached on the “Montreux Document on Pertinent International Legal Obligations and Good Practices of States Related to Operations of Private Military and Security Companies during Armed Conflict”. This promotes respect for International Humanitarian Law (Geneva Conventions and Additional Protocols) and human rights law by States and Private Security Companies.
EI also supports and works with the British Consultancy Charitable Trust who assist those in need of training, education and mentoring in the field of enterprise and social development in the developing world through the provision of volunteer advisers on a short term assignment basis. We commend this charity to you.
